Thalia Grace, my older daughter, LOVES to eat. And not just the stuff that kids normally love to eat like pizza, French fries and ice cream. She really likes veggies and is no stranger to foods like falafels, pesto pasta, and ma po tofu. It comes as no surprise that she also LOVES to help me cook.
I was never one to really use swear words. On occasion, when it seemed fitting, I would let some slip. But once my oldest started to talk, eventually repeating the things I was saying, I became a lot more aware and cautious of what I said. I knew she would most likely be sassy but I didn’t want her to grow up sounding like George Carlin. I started to use words and phrases that still had the feeling of a swear word but were, for the most part, G-rated.
Some reasons why moms* rock:
They are proud of everything you accomplish, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you.
They can heal boo-boos with a single kiss and hug.
When you’re sick, nothing tastes better than the chicken soup they make. Even if it came from a Campbell’s soup can.
They usually do know best.
