It all started with a little magic.
Five restless hours over the Pacific and a minor meltdown (mine, not the kids) were quickly forgotten as we entered the gates early on a Tuesday morning. High fiving cast members while walking down Buena Vista Street instantly put me in a better mood. Funny, isn’t it, how just that simple act can completely turn your day around?
Disneyland is easily one of my top three favorite places in the world. On this visit we were joined by a high school friend and her family. I love experiencing the parks through other people. Seeing their eyes light up at the mere sight of a character or a churro cart. I love sharing my love for Disney with others.
There are so many moments that I’ll remember for a long time. My kiddos having a tea party with Alice and The Mad Hatter. Riding Radiator Springs Racers at night with my whole family. Chewie spotting my Princess Leia shirt and raising his fist to the sky. Watching the fireworks while sitting in the middle of the esplanade.
Even those moments that seem ordinary make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Sharing our favorite fried chicken. Trying new desserts. Relaxing on a bench with a view of Sleeping Beauty castle. These pedestrian things seem less so at The Happiest Place on Earth. The pixie dust and constant smell of sugar in the air definitely help.
After four days I’m exhausted.
Exhausted but happy.
And I can’t wait to go back.
