You know those places you visit and instantly know that it’s a place you HAVE to return to some day? Berlin is one of those places.

My cousin and her family were kind enough to let us stay with them for a weekend and as evident above, we had an amazing time. My other cousin and her boyfriend were in town that weekend as well. It was so nice to see all of them. Our girls loved playing with my cousin’s daughter.

First thing’s first: Berlin is a HUGE city. No joke. But the public transportation system is incredible. Really easy to get around with tons of train stops everywhere. It’s a mix of old and new, with a slight hipstery vibe to it. Very cool while also being super family friendly.

We saw a lot, including the dome of the Reichstag building, went to a leather and mustaches party, checked out the East Side Gallery, and ate a ton. The food, oh, the food. Whenever you visit Berlin, try the currywurst from Hain & Friedrichs and vegan donuts from Brammibal’s Donuts. You won’t regret it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to my cousin and her family for being such gracious hosts.

Berlin, we’ll be back.
