My family and I spent last week on the Big Island. Instead of just flying into Kona and hanging out at King’s Land the whole time, we flew into Hilo. Despite the fact that I was pretty sick during the entire trip, we did some fun things there.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
I’ve been to the Big Island at least a dozen times but this was my first visit here. First thing of note: The park is HUGE. We only covered a very small part of it, but what we saw, the Kilauea Overlook and the Thurston Lava Tube, was pretty neat. Second thing of note: Bring sunscreen and a rain jacket. Trust me.
‘Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii
SCIENCE, YEAH! The kiddos had fun looking at the exhibits. I loved the 3D planetarium show.
