I Heart Creatives: Ok Go

The other night my husband and I were watching Ok Go’s video* for The Writing’s on the Wall.

I was totally floored.

They never cease to amaze me with their beautifully shot and creatively thought out videos.

In a 2010 interview, lead singer Damian Kulash told Gizmodo about how ideas for their videos evolved.

It’s not like we sat down one day and the brain trust came up with idea for “This Too Shall Pass.” Tim [Nordwind, the bass player] and I have known each other since we were 12, and it’s always been the animating passion of our lives to make fun projects together. Everything from making home videos to recording songs.

When asked whether Ok Go feels like they need to keep topping themselves Damian said,

Mostly I’m just excited because I think this makes it more likely that we’ll be able to do more in the future…The success of any particular project is that rather than lifting the bar and creating pressure to come up with new ideas, it opens you up to more and more of them.

Creating leads to more creating.

Love that.

*You should definitely give Ok Go’s albums a listen. They’re pretty awesome. Kind of pop-rock.**

**Not to be confused with Pop Rocks. Which are also totally cool. And super nostalgic.
