Cinnamon Roll Cake
40You all know that I love breakfast foods. Maybe it’s because I don’t really cook breakfast that often. My husband sometimes cooks breakfast stuff on the weekends. We usually just eat cereal in the morning.
The other night we had French toast with Portuguese sausage for dinner. Instead of drizzling maple syrup on my French toast, I slathered it with Nutella. What? Nutella is made with skim milk. It’s practically healthy.
Here’s something you could make for breakfast or dessert.
Cinnamon roll cake.
Super easy.
Make some.
You’re welcome.
Ingredients
- (recipe from Cookin' Up North)
- Cake
- 3 cups flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- Topping
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix all ingredients for the cake together except for the butter. Slowly stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
- For the topping, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Drop evenly over the batter and swirl with a knife. Bake for 28-32 minutes.
- While cake is still warm, drizzle the glaze over the top.

When it was ready to take out the topping was still gooey, is it supposed to be like that?
Hi! When I took my batch out the top was slightly gooey too. But after I let it sit a bit, it was fine. Have an awesome day!
I stumbled upon this on Sunday, made it today. I cut all the ingredients in half and baked it in an 8×8 pan. I couldn’t wait to try it so I was licking my spatulas as I went. haha so good! It turned out amazing!! Thank you so much!

How much is a fucking cup? I’ve got dozens of cups, and all vary in size.
Metric, please!
1 cup of all-purpose flour or confectioners sugar is equal to 128 grams. Here is a link to a chart with conversions from the American system of weights (which is what I use) and measurements to metric for baked goods. http://allrecipes.com/howto/cup-to-gram-conversions/ I hope you have a lovely day!
Herr Mayer…….You have a vulgar mouth!!! There was no need to use that kind of language!!

Just to clarify, is that cinnamon in the topping ground cinnamon or cinnamon sugar?
